The Catholic University of America
Established in 1887, the Catholic University of America is located in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C., known as “Little Rome”. As the only institution of higher learning founded by U.S. Catholic bishops, the school offers both Catholic and secular studies under the motto “Deus Lux Mea Est” or “God Is My Light”.
Educating a yearly average of 6,700 students, the University’s popular draws include the Columbus School of Law as well as heavy involvement with the Knights of Columbus. Sports fans watch the CUA Cardinals compete at the NCAA Division III level in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
