The Smithsonian National Zoological Park is magic during the holidays. The National Zoo hosts Zoo Lights through January 1st featuring over 500,000 twinkling lights and holiday display throughout the grounds. Admission is free and the baby pandas are growing up fast. Don’t forget the Zoo Tubing on Lion/Tiger Hill during the winter season.

The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink is open for the winter season. Enjoy spectacular works of art as you skate on the open-air rink with music from a state-of-the-art sound system. The rink is located between the National Museum of Natural History and the National Gallery of Art at 7th Street NW and Constitution Avenue.
